SEAHAM HALL'S HEAD CHEF IN BBC2'S GREAT BRITISH MENU FINALS Posted on 26/05/2009
After winning the North East heat of Great British Menu, Kenny Atkinson has made it through to the finals of Great British Menu, which are scheduled to transmit the week beginning 25th May, 6pm on BBC TWO.
Kenny is competing to represent his region at a special homecoming banquet, to honour the men and women of the British Armed Forces, who have recently returned from active service in Afghanistan, along with their families who support them. The other chefs Kenny will be competing against are: Glynn Purnell (Central), Shaun Rankin (South West), Nigel Haworth (North West), Danny Millar (Northern Ireland), James Sommerin (Wales), Tom Kitchin (Scotland) and Tristan Welch (London & South East).
After winning his regional heat a favourite of viewers was Kenny’s Craster Fish Pie which included lobster, mussels, crab and smoked kippers. With the ingredients for his dishes, including his fish pie, sourced from the local area Kenny will not only be representing the region but also showcasing the North East’s excellent array of produce to some of the most discerning restaurant critics’ in the world.
You will get the chance to vote for your favourite dish at the end of each hour long programme and the results will be announced in the programme which transmits on Friday 29th May.
