von Essen hotels scoops another 4 accolades at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2010 Posted on 10/11/2009
Last night von Essen hotels were awarded recognition in several categories of excellence at the Johansens Awards held in London. These awards highlighted the collections overall contribution to the tourism industry. von Essen hotels beat stiff competition to win big in four major categories.
The ‘Most Excellent Hotel’ award was awarded to the unique Chateau de Bagnols in Bagnols in France. The ‘Most Excellent Country House Hotel’ went to the recently refurbished Bishopstrow House in Wiltshire. In the Champagne Taittinger Wine List Award categories both Buckland Manor and Sharrow Bay were awarded for ‘Best Selection of Champagne’ and ‘Special Commendation Digestiv List’ accordingly.
The Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence are made annually to those properties worldwide that represent the finest standards and best value for money in luxury and independent accommodation.
These awards follow hot on the heels of other von Essen hotels award wins this year, notably the AA Award for ‘Hotel Group of the Year’ and ‘Hotel Chain of the Year’ at The British Travel Awards.
von Essen’s executive director of sales and marketing, Greg Ward commented: “It is a great honour to be recognised yet again this year in another prestigious awards ceremony. The four awards highlight our ongoing appeal at all levels from Europe with the stunning Chateau de Bagnols to our recently refurbished UK based country house hotel Bishopstrow House. It is also a real honour to be recognised for our wine lists, something we take very seriously with dedicated sommeliers at our hotels.”
