Pamper your Pooch this April: What better excuse than National Pet Month to reward our cherished canine chums

The most loyal friend, doting companion, indeed, an integral member of the family... It’s not always that easy to find a place to enjoy a break away where your humble hound will be as welcomed as you!

Why settle for leaving furry friends behind in kennels or with neighbours? Isn’t it time that dedicated dog owners who want to return the loyalty shown by their dear, doting dogs are given a helping hand?

This April is National Pet Month and for those who want to enjoy a break with their cuddly companion - or more importantly, reward that precious pet with an escape for all the “family” - von Essen hotels is here to help, offering luxury accommodation in the UK for both owners and dog. Here are two ideas on how to treat your cuddly companion to a very special break away this April and beyond…

Ston Easton Park, Somerset - Pamper yourself and your four legged friend!
Prices from £260.00 per room, per night.

Ston Easton Park offers the warmest of welcomes to guests and their four legged friends. Set in 36 acres of stunning parkland complete with a cascading river, woodland walks and manicured gardens, the hotel is able to offer a piece of doggy heaven without the owner having to compromise on their luxury break.

The hotel’s very own Cocker Spaniel, Oscar, will extend a very warm welcome to your dog and is always willing to show you the best routes for a good walk!

Arrive at your leisure and settle into your luxurious bedroom. A comfy dog basket, feeding bowls, a new toy to take home and a special treat will be awaiting your dog. Once you and your dog have enjoyed a walk around the hotel’s extensive parkland you can reward yourself with a special Champagne afternoon tea in the comfort of one of the drawing rooms.

Dinner will be prepared by Matthew Butcher, Ston Easton’s celebrated head chef, and served in the luxurious surroundings of the refurbished Sorrel Restaurant.

After enjoying full English breakfast either in the restaurant or in the comfort of your own bedroom, you may like to explore the extensive estate once more. Ston Easton is also surrounded by glorious countryside and the Mendip Hills so if you want to venture further afield there is no shortage of glorious walks. In the evening you will be treated to another a la carte dinner, followed by breakfast the following morning.

Classic £520.00
Superior £565.00
Deluxe £670.00
State £720.00

Rates are per couple and dog and fully inclusive of accommodation for two nights, full English breakfast each morning, A la Carte dinner each evening and Champagne afternoon tea on one day.

Washbourne Court, Lower Slaughter, Cotswolds - Pet A Porter!
Rooms from £225.00 per night

Dog Blog: “Washbourne Court is a fabulous hotel which allows you to bring your humans with you. Whilst you curl up in your specially provided in-room dog bed, humans will have a happy night's sleep in the fabulous individually designed bedrooms. While you relax in the pet-friendly Scholar's Lounge, your humans can have afternoon tea or an informal supper and while you romp in the riverside gardens chasing ducks, they can relax on the waterside terrace.

You're worth it! Treat yourself and book into the local dog boutique Designer Pooch for a wash and blow dry (where all the beautiful WAGS hang out) and why not treat your humans to an in room spa package after you’ve walked the feet off them in the beautiful surrounding countryside?

To make you feel welcome on arrival and so that you can travel light, Washbourne Court will also supply guests with a handy Greenfield’s travel pack which contains one bottle of Dogz on the Run travel shampoo, one bottle of lotion as well as a handy towel – perfect for a night away or to take in the car (rrp £17.14)

Pet menus are available on request and for humans who need a break from the daily “walkies” routine, Washbourne Court’s dog friendly staff will be happy to oblige with an escorted walk around the beautiful Cotswold countryside.”

- Greenfields Travel Pack (STA)
- Local walk map
- Full Cotswolds breakfast
- A dog bed and welcome pack in - room
