“ROOMS WITH A VIEW” an innovative concept of “breakaway” areas from von Essen hotels
Posted on 12/04/2010

von Essen hotels offers company’s the chance to make every meeting or conference booked, uniquely “theirs”. Traditionally, breakaway rooms have been the place for a quick break and coffee, away from the main focus of a conference or launch. von Essen hotels makes the breakaway experience part of a memorable occasion, and will tailor bespoke options across its 29 luxurious hotels. A choice of four themed meeting experiences are offered:
• Water rooms - next to a river, on the river, near a fountain
• Sky rooms - under a chestnut tree, under the sky, under the willows on the rivers edge, under a silk marquee or canopy with picnic blankets
• Garden rooms - a 16th century garden, a perfectly designed kitchen garden, under an apple tree, amidst garden art and statues
• Silver screen room – a cinematic breakaway experience

Water rooms:
At the regal Cliveden, in Berkshire, guests can glide down the Thames river in the “Suzy Ann” a vintage boat (up to 8 people), or experience the solitude of an afternoon on water, from a lovingly restored flotilla of vintage launches, stopping for a breath of fresh air, or afternoon tea.

Homewood Park and Royal Crescent, Bath, offer the lovingly restored Lady Sophina (8 people) for another water excursion.

Sky rooms:
For the slightly more adventurous, Amberley Castle, West Sussex, has a Tree house that caters for up to 6 people. To reach it one can walk over a rope bridge, enjoying the lavish and intricate gardens.

Ickworth, Surrey, proffers 1,800 acres of parkland, where chairs & tables can be set beneath a canopy of leaves, or a sunny sky, or a picnic blanket or secluded spot can be arranged in The Ickworth’s own vineyard.

Thornbury Castle, Gloucestershire, with sumptuous views of the River Severn and rolling parklands, can offer a spot for “brainstorms” in two of the oldest gardens in England, The Privy Garden, and Goodly Garden (who knows you may tread in the steps of Henry V111 and Anne Boleyn!).

Garden rooms:
Bishopstrow, Wiltshire, a quintessential English country house set in the Wylye Valley, is home to a Gothic Temple (up to 6 people), or groups can lounge at the rivers edge-watching swans glide by.

At the fabulous Ston Easton, Somerset, experience the glasshouses that bring the outdoors inside, or set up a meeting area in the Kitchen garden surrounded by the fragrance of home-grown herbs and the bustle of chefs choosing fresh ingredients for the day’s menu.

At New Park Manor, Hampshire, the award winning designed hot tubs are set in inspiring countryside with deer and ponies roaming close by.

Lower Slaughter Manor, Gloucestershire, relax on the banks of the River Eye, or explore the mystery of the walled gardens.

Silver Screen room:
The Forbury hotel in Reading, the first in von Essen’s Metropolitan set boasts a cinema room for up to 30 delegates making it the ideal venue for a brainstorm with a visual element required, a question & answers session or even a product launch.

Whether you require a small, private business retreat offering picturesque seclusion, unique features, unrivalled natural landscapes or the ultimate screening room, von Essen hotels is an inspiration. Now offering a totally unique approach to “breakaway” rooms - they hope to leave their inimitable signature.
